Review

For our first holiday with our one year old we had a great time. On arrival it was very busy and cars where being sent to the carpark which didn't have enough spaces for everyone. Staff where very friendly when checking in and we were lucky our caravan was ready before our check in time. We checked in and went for lunch in the Mash and Barrel. Baguettes where lovely. Our caravan was right over by otters cove, so was nice a quiet and beautiful views. On arrival to the caravan the outside was dirty and looked very run down. Once in the caravan I placed the little one on the floor and began to unpack. It was a spacious caravan and we had been upgraded from a 2 bedto a 3 bed which was lovely. However the more we unpacked the more we noticed the van was dirty. The toilet still had hair on the seat and I picked my little one up off of the floor and her feet and knees where black. The blinds where thick with dust and no curtains present. Spoke to reception about this and they just said they where sorry and told us the cleaning staff where stretched. However when checking out I expressed my disappointment once again to another member of staff and explained I had to clean the van and she expressed that we should of been moved!! The pool, water slides and changing area was beautifully clean and kept well up together. The mash and barrel had a little shock one evening when our one year old wouldn't eat her macaroni cheese. I don't blame her as I tried it and it was tasteless, hard pasta and stodgy. However the staff changed it straight away with no fuss or argument and she ate all the spaghetti dish with a fee ice cream as an apology. The shop on site we found reasonably priced for an onsite convenience. The children's entertainment was good, outdoor play areas well kept. The indoor soft play needs a serious clean again our daughter ended up black hands and knees from crawling around. Overall we had a lovely time and just made the most of the time we had as a family and will return next year.
